2、参赛选手必须在赛前20分钟入场，选手上场迟到1分钟视为弃权。

I have remembered such a piece of news . An excellent student flunked (考试不及格) because he could not concentrate on his study for being too indulged in computer games. The most serious harm of computer games come from their contents, which affects teenagers ' mental health. Many games involve violence, such as fighting and killing. Hello everyone! My name is, a student from*college. I am glad to give you a speech about my university. The title of my speech is My college, my home.
Last September I left my hometown with heavy baggage and after a journey of ten hours, I came to this dream campus with great expectation and excitement.
I was deeply attracted by the elegant environment of our campus the moment I stepped into the university. Straight, wide roads enjoyed the shade and shelter provided by lordly, green trees. Ancient buildings of great refinement enjoyed the company of flocks of birds flying and singing overhead. Scrolls of warm welcome greeted me and volunteers with smiles came to my help. My heart was filled with warmth. Yeah, this is the place where I will spend 4 years and this place will be my home!
Whenever I recall the past days, so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. But what impressed me most is a night when I got a stomachache during the first days. I had to turn to the aunts in charge of our dormitory for help. They were so friendly and warm-hearted. They gave me the pills and reminded me of having more hot water. I recovered soon and I thanked them from the bottom of my heart because they brought me the warmth of home.
Our university is a famous academic center. The teaching staff are all learned professors. Many of them are world-wide known for their wide range of knowledge and charming personality. I respect my teachers! I admire my teachers! I love my teachers! Various activities are carried here. They not only bring me happiness but also improve myself. I meet with a lot of classmates and make a large number of friends. When I feel upset, the will give me a hand; when I am happy, I will share with them. The library has a large collection of books and I always lose myself in it. I believe they will benefit me a lot and are to broaden the roads of my future.

一、活动主题
为了发展和丰富校园文化和学生的课余生活，激发英语的学习兴趣，提高同学们学习英语的积极性，养成良好英语学习习惯，提高他们的口头表达能力，养成积极交流的态度。经学校批准，我校决定于3月29日举行第四届英语演讲比赛的决赛。
2、 时间：2017年3月29日下午第三节课（3:55开始）
3、 参赛者：九年级预赛后选拔的选手
四、比赛方式：
五、比赛程序：
（1） 预赛：2016年11月28日-12月2日
活动内容：利用课外活动时间，以班级为单位进行练习，然后进行预赛。最后，14名学生将参加整个年级的期末考试。
（2） 第二阶段，决赛（2017年3月29日下午3:55）
活动要求：
1全年总决赛将提前10分钟到达比赛场地（学校一楼），为比赛做准备，并先抽签确定出场顺序。
2每名选手现场比赛总时间不超过5分钟。
3. 请各班英语老师将本班参加决赛名单于本周五3月17日之内，以短信或微信形式发到毛兴杰老师处，便于制定决赛名单**。
六．评奖等级：
1一个特别奖2。两个一等奖3。四名二等奖4名。七个三等奖
获奖者将获颁发奖状及纪念品，以示鼓励。
七、作品展示：
获奖作品将择优发表在校刊《晨曦》上。

Our school, which was set up in 1945, lies in the south of Changchun City. It is famous in our city.
It has 24 classes. 8 classes in each grade. The number of the students and teachers adds up to over 2,000. In the front of the school stands a high classroom building, behind which is a lab buiding. We have many of our chemistry and biology classes in it. Between them is a new library built 3 years ago. There are a large number of books there. After lunch a number of students like reading there.
On the right there is a football field and two basketball courts. They are our favorite places in our spare time. It is said that a swimming pool will be built to the left.
Our school is big and beautiful, covered with green trees and colorful flowers. Many piople call it a garden school. It’s really a good place for us to study in.

good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. the title of our speech today is "crossing the sea".
an english poet by the name of rudyard kipling once wrote in his poem "we and they":
"all the people like us are we
and everyone else is they
we live over the sea
while they live over the way
we eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives
they who gobble their rice off a leaf
are horrified out of their lives."
when these lines first caught my eyes, i was shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? today's society, of course, is an entirely different picture. those people who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips.
indeed, just take china as an example: our modern life has been influenced by western style of living in so many ways that it's no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at mcdonald's and even rather elderly people dressed in apple jeans.
however, these are only some expressions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today. what is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nation's mentality. just look around.
ladies and gentlemen, we live in a great epoch when the global integration of economy and the information revolution have brought cultures of the world closer than ever before. we live in a particular era when countries, east and west, find themselves in need of readjusting their traditional values. we live, at the same time, at a critical juncture of our evolution because such problems as ethnic conflicts and regional unrest are increasingly posing a threat to the peace and happiness of the whole human race.
to cope with such an era and to embrace an even brighter future, we need to learn to live more harmoniously in a world ***munity which is be***ing **aller and **aller.
my dear teachers！our ***mand of the english language renders it possible for us to gain an insight into western culture while retaining our own cultural identity.
therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between china and the rest of the world.
